"I am standing with my cousin Marianne, who is 3 years younger than me. After WWII, like many German-Americans, we sent packages of clothing, bedding and foodstuffs to Germany. Being younger than me, Marianne always got my outgrown clothes. Since I left the Dirndl with her after this trip, she is once again, albeit 60 years later, wearing my hand-me-downs!"
